COTABATO, PHILIPPINES EARTHQUAKE UPDATE
 
The 2019 Cotabato, Philippines earthquakes were an earthquake swarm which struck the province of Cotabato on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines in October 31, 2019 Three of these earthquakes were above 6.0 in the magnitude scale with a Mercalli intensity of VIII.

DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) reported that of the total 254,473 persons or 50,930 families affected by the earthquake in Regions 11 and 12 (Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN), 39,128 individuals or 8,265 households have sought temporary shelter in 47 evacuation centers.

Pictures from the North Cotabato Medical/Surgical Mission and Disaster Relief Assistance conducted by the Southern Philippine Medical Center, Department of Orthopedics, The Philippine Orthopedic Association (Southern Mindanao Chapter) and the Civilian Military Reserve Unit. The entire mission was facilitated by 
Dr. HIlario "Larry" Diaz, Jr., SPMC Chairman of Orthopedics and Director of the Civilian Military Reserve Unit. 
 
 
Handang Tumulong Foundation donated $3,000.00 to this mission. The mission was a success and the team will still pursue of returning to Makilala or yet other nearby sites  for continuation of the relief efforts.
